A lecture in Accra, Ghana on Citybranding on a event called "Accra Revisited" organized by DASUDA (Alliance for Sustainable Urban Development in Africa).
We where asked by Peter Kersten (BNO) to do a lecture in Accra, Ghana on Citybranding. On a event called "Accra Revisited" organized by DASUDA (Dutch Alliance for Sustainable Urban Development in Africa).
By doing research we discovered several opportunities to develop the city by adding creative interventions in collaboration with local creatives.

With the spatial analysis of the hardware we can start analysing the social, economical, and culture functions.
DEVELOPING MULTI-ISSUE SPACE & PROGRAM
Next we define a unique and creative composition of the functions, creating a multi-issue space, and make a matching program.
BRANDING & COMMUNICATION
How do we visualise an identity? By clear and distinct communication, which shows the uniqueness of the area and its attractiveness.

Local gems & talent for the future
Accra is a vibrant city still in development. It has a lot of ambitious talent in vairous sectors. Jamestown is a historic fishery district with a lighthouse as landmark. It has a lot of architecture which can be renovated into public functions, along with a rich boxing culture. The local identity is a good start to revitalise the area by collaborating with entrepreuneurs. Sport, food and art are essential disciplines for creating intercacton. Next to that their are interesting examples of Dutch companies collaborating with Ghana like Vlisco, Black Star and Tony Chocolonely.
